If you thought that my extended hiatus was because I managed to send my bike across the parking lot and into a river on the second day of my MSF course, then you were sorely mistaken!!!
OK I'm technically not licensed yet but will be soon. Basically, I passed the course, which covers me for the road test. Just gotta drag myself to the DMV, pass a small written thing, then I'll be ready to ride. Assuming I even buy a bike... it might actually be a sec. Haha turns out buying a motorcycle + all the shit you need for it is pretty expensive??? Also, not sure about parking options in NYC? You would think these things would have been considered b4 gunning towards the license. Nonetheless, this arc has given me joy and comfort and that's all that matters.
In case your curious, top contender for the bike right now is the Kawasaki Eliminator. I like the look of it, it seems like it'll be able to do everything I need it to do, only issue is that a lot of the used models I'm seeing are ones without ABS, which I've been told is pretty important for new riders. If you have any suggestions/thoughts/advice, shoot me an email at voidtext@proton.me :)

Idk what to tell ya, voidtext and april just don't mix :/ I just haven't been in a big blogging mood lately - even my own journal has been a light on updates. Maybe I'm just traumatized because I started a mini-journal I could carry around in my butt pocket and write in whenever, but then I went to a bar crawl w/ some friends and I fucking lost it! Some east villager might be reading my deranged scribblings as we speak (X_X) Never again, man.
So what else have I been up to? The usual! Radio, gym here and there, some local journalism, book aquistion. Finished up The Trial, also finally got to read Queer by Willaim S. Burroughs. Kind of cursed lineup lol, so I'm trying to shift the vibe. Still working on Meet Me in the Bathroom, so sticking with that for now.
I've also been super into the show Invincible, which just wrapped up it's fourth season a few weeks ago. I thought the MCU had me way too jaded to ever like and/or care about any superhero media but this show is turning the tides on that. The scope, the writing, and the gore just give it a kind of weight that most of these stories totally miss. The animation has gotten a lot of flack, and I agree it looks noticibly worse this season which is just odd, but I don't think it really takes away that much. They show out for the moments that matter, and the voice acting and sound design carry it fine.

I started reading the comics this week - don't think I can wait the till season five comes out to learn how this story ends, let alone the sixth, seventh, or however many it ends up being. I just got to where season one ends and it's been facinating to see the differences. It's like the same things happen but it's all jumbled up and there are some notable changes. The general vibe I've gotten is that show improves on the comic's writing, and so far I very much agree - I don't think I would be super invested in the comics thus far (at least not as much as I am) if I hadn't seen the show. Still, I'm hooked.
talk soon!
