Nitrous Oxide and Nyodene D.

howdy howdy howdy
Im back.

Misery and death are decending upon me
By that I mean I got a new job and I’m actually starting it later today.
It’s actually a really cool thing.
Although it does mean I have to eventually quit my job as barista
And I was just starting to get good at it :(

After getting the platonic ideal of a useless major, it’s nice to see that I have some professional prospects after all. (Take that, my economics professor!)

The main thing I’ve been reading this month has been White Noise by Don DeLillo. It’s about an American family man who’s content as professor of Hitler studies when a cloud of toxic chemicals defends on his town.

I guess my pitch for this book would be imagine if David Lynch was a novelist. I guess I just say that surrealism to comment on American culture. It also really digs deep into what technology means us and what people do to repress their fear of death.

Speaking of surrealism and pain, I actually got my wisdom teeth taken out this week. I was awake for the experience, but the Nitros Oxide (laughing gas) did a decent job of numbing me. The result is an experience that is simultaneously present and not present. You feel your body getting poked and pulled at, you even see blood, and yet there’s no pain and not even any sense of release. You feel pressure at some points, but when the tooth comes out it seems as easy as taking a plug out of an electrical socket. I kept on having to move my feet and hands to make sure I was still there.

So yeah.
Those have been the vibes for me these past few days. Updates to the site coming soon. Be well.
